- ➤ Marian University lowered tuition to $295 per credit for its online Dental Hygiene Completion program, offering licensed dental hygienists a flexible route to earn a bachelor’s degree. The program provides accelerated courses for working professionals seeking career advancement. KFIZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fond du Lac employers are urged by the Department of Workforce Development to apply for Wisconsin Fast Forward grants that cover costs for customized training. Applications are due by 3 p.m. CST Wednesday, Feb. 18 (grants range from $5,000 to over $400,000 for consortium applicants). Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Wisconsin health officials continue to recommend vaccines even after the CDC removed flu, COVID-19, meningococcal, RSV, hepatitis, and rotavirus shots from its universal list. The department (in line with pediatric guidelines) urges parents with questions to consult their doctors. FDL Reporter
- ➤ ADVOCAP partnered with Collaborative Wellness to expand mental health care access for residents by offering confidential in-person and virtual therapy sessions at its Fond du Lac office at 19 W. 1st Street, with all therapists accepting Medicaid and other insurance plans. KFIZ

- ➤ Marian University men’s volleyball finished ninth in the NACC preseason poll with 132 points + the team will open its season at the Jim Coleman Memorial Invitational hosted by Wittenberg on Jan. 16-17 by playing Westminster, Wittenberg, Thiel, and Eastern Mennonite. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Today, Marian University women’s basketball lost 71-45 to St. Norbert in a fast paced contest as the Green Knights extended their undefeated record to eight wins; Marian matched its season high with eight three-pointers but struggled with offense. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University named Amanda Roessler as its fifth head coach for the field hockey program. The former Swarthmore player, who coached at Brookfield Academy and for the Lift Field Hockey Club, will lead the team in upcoming competitions. Envision Greater FDL
