- ➤ On Jan. 15, Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to an attached garage fire at 300 Star Street sparked by a wood burner; crews controlled the blaze in 15 minutes, all residents (and pets) evacuated safely, and utilities were turned off as the Red Cross assists with the uninhabitable home. KFIZ

- ➤ Fond du Lac Public Library will host author Dean Robbins to discuss his book Wisconsin Idols and explore the links of famous as well as lesser-known figures to the state. The event takes place Thursday, Jan. 22 from 6-7 p.m. in the Mclane Room and requires registration. KFIZ
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in the Midwest rose to $2.60 per gallon on Monday — up from $2.58 last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. They remain about 6% below the national average and are 10% lower than a year ago after a 9-cent drop since last month. FDL Reporter

- ➤ Six Fond du Lac STEM Academy students competing as Fondy Fire Fish earned a spot at the FIRST LEGO League Wisconsin Championship tomorrow at Sun Prairie West High School — after winning a Robot Design Award at the Lakeshore Regional Tournament, setting them to join top teams statewide for national rounds. - ➤ ThedaCare’s nurse practitioner explained cough care options and warned residents to seek care if a cough lasts weeks, worsens, or brings severe symptoms. She recommended home remedies (warm tea with honey, humidifiers, and sinus rinses) and outlined in-person, virtual, or emergency care if needed. KFIZ
- ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Health Services released updated flu numbers today that show local respiratory illness levels easing slightly + pediatricians warn that children remain at risk from the fast-acting H3N2 strain and recommend flu shots. WBAY
