- ➤ Teens in Fond du Lac County can enter the 12th-annual Teens Photo Contest at the Public Library starting Feb. 1 until April 10 at 6 p.m., with the best entry winning a $250 Visa gift card. A VIP panel will judge entries before they are exhibited in May. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University Black Student Union will host its Annual Soul Food Dinner to celebrate Black History Month, inviting campus and community members. The event will offer a catered meal and speeches from former BSU members on the importance of family in academic success. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Marian University cut tuition for its online Respiratory Therapy Completion Program to $295 per credit — letting licensed respiratory therapists complete the degree in as little as 18 months with accelerated seven-week courses and six flexible start dates. FDL Reporter
- ➤ Lakeland University will open a new office on the Moraine Park Technical College campus in Fond du Lac on Feb. 18 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. The move strengthens the partnership between the schools — supporting student access and smoother pathways to education. FDL Reporter

- ➤ Eligible Wisconsin adults may openly carry firearms in public spaces except near schools — a 1,000-foot buffer — and on federal property, while concealed carry permit holders may carry in bars if sober; local experts advise reviewing the regulations before carrying. FDL Reporter

- ➤ The first measles case in Wisconsin this year was reported in Waukesha County from a traveler. Health officials advise travelers planning winter vacations to check measles activity and update vaccinations (exposure notifications are underway). WBAY
- ➤ ThedaCare now offers NeuroBlate — a new image-guided laser therapy for brain tumors — in northeast and central Wisconsin after first using it on a patient in mid-January. - ➤ Junior Cole Carlson of Marian University was named NCHA Star of the Week after earning five points in two games against Lawrence & the Vikings, including a three-point game and an overtime multi-goal win. Marian will open a home series with MSOE Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University men’s Sabres finished second at the third GLBC bowling meet today with a 216.8 average in Baker play and an overall score of 8,890 pins – they were one of four teams to surpass 5,000 pins in traditional play. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University hockey finished nonconference play with two home wins over Lake Superior State by scores of 5-2 & 3-2, as the team used rapid scoring and strong shot counts to secure the series. Envision Greater FDL
