- ➤ U.S. News & World Report released rankings on Feb. 11 that list 14 Wisconsin cities among the best places to live, with Eau Claire earning the top spot for its affordable living and robust job market while Milwaukee ranked lowest. FDL Reporter
- ➤ The Dock Spiders are accepting applications for the Share the Glove grant that offers Rawlings youth baseball and softball equipment this spring; eligible groups (501(c)(3), schools or community organizations serving kids ages 9-12) must apply by Friday, May 8. KFIZ
- ➤ Sons of the American Legion Squadron 75 is hosting its third annual Freezing for a Reason event to raise awareness for homeless veterans in Fond du Lac. The event features a spaghetti dinner (Feb. 14, 4 to 7 p.m.) at Post 75, 500 Fond du Lac Ave, followed by a pancake breakfast (Feb. 15, 8 a.m. to noon). FDL Reporter
- ➤ The Wisconsin Beef Council has announced the 3rd Annual Wisconsin's Best Burger Contest, inviting nominations from Friday, Feb. 13 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. A secret panel will taste the Elite Eight finalists and announce the grand winner on April 24. KFIZ
- ➤ Owner Sandy Ritchie said The Diner celebrated its third anniversary yesterday at a historic downtown location built in the late 1800s. Patrons recall its storied past, and Ritchie noted the building’s charm (including alleged ghost tales) that makes the diner uniquely part of the community. NBC 26

- ➤ ThedaCare hospitals now offer a Clothing Closet that provides clean, seasonally-appropriate clothing to patients leaving care, supported by a $25,000 grant from the ThedaCare Family of Foundations. - ➤ ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah was recognized for high-quality bariatric care after receiving national accreditation as a Comprehensive Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications through MBSAQIP; officials said the honor shows its team is committed to safe weight loss surgery care in our area.
