  • Holy Family Catholic Community will host its sixth annual Soup du Jour fundraiser on Mar. 21 at Holy Family Church, where over 20 local restaurants donate soup to benefit Holyland Food Pantry and Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Holy Family Conference).  KFIZ
  • The Friendship Fishing Club held its annual meeting on March 6 where Joshua Mundt and Mark Tushar announced a $2500 donation to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation endowed scholarship fund. Conservation warden William Hankee outlined the recent sturgeon spearing season — while Greg Giles shared new partnership opportunities.  KFIZ
  • Envision Greater Fond du Lac will hold its Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 9 at the Radisson Hotel (Conference Center) starting at 5:00 p.m.; the event will review its past accomplishments and honor local business and community leaders with awards.  Envision Greater FDL

  • Primal Eats in Gillett warns customers about fake free meal vouchers mailed by Masa Global that falsely promise a free meal, as the restaurant had declined catering orders after suspect communications. The restaurant advises anyone receiving these flyers to contact them for clarification.  WBAY

CULTURE NEWS

  • Royal Guernsey Creamery won gold for salted butter and silver for flavored butter on Tuesday at the World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison; winners will be livestreamed Thursday at 2 p.m. + the contest featured 3,375 entries from 25 countries, celebrating Wisconsin’s dairy tradition.  Envision Greater FDL

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Plymouth hemp farmer Craig Thran warned that a federal hemp ban set for November 12 could force many businesses into bankruptcy and hurt Wisconsin's $700M hemp industry that employs 3,500 workers (while Heritage Hemp Farm Store owner Jay Selthofner noted unclear legal risks) as state lawmakers remain in recess.  NBC 26

HEALTH NEWS

  • SSM Health Integrative Health in Fond du Lac welcomed licensed acupuncturist Alemayehu (AJ) Jones, who brings military and clinical experience to offer holistic care; he is now accepting new patients at 421 Camelot Drive.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Officials confirmed on March 6 that a highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak was in a Jefferson County poultry flock, quarantining the site (6.2-mile control area) with plans to depopulate the birds. Residents in Fond du Lac should avoid sick or dead birds and follow biosecurity measures.  FDL Reporter
  • The history wall display was unveiled at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah to honor founder Theda Clark Peters and to celebrate over 115 years of care in the community.   • Fond du Lac Dock Spiders and Green Bay Rockers will face off in their fifth annual I-41 Showdown at Neuroscience Group Field on Tuesday, June 2 at 6:35 p.m. (tickets cost $5 through the teams’ offices) as Holiday Automotive presents the event.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Marian University softball earned its first sweep of 2026 by defeating Adrian 8-6 and Wentworth 7-0. Key extra-base hits from sophomore Aubrey Bender and junior Savanna Knuth helped turn a slow start into a decisive win.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Marian baseball defeated St. Vincent College 11 — 4 as eight unanswered runs powered the Bearcats to a strong win; junior Marc Jones and Lucas Lemons helped spark the offense in a game marking Marian’s first victory over SVC following a twin bill loss in 2023.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Fond du Lac Dock Spiders announced new 3-game ticket packages for the 2026 season, offering options like $2 Tuesday games with snacks, morning specials with day games, and weekend matchups with an opening night bonus; tickets are available at the Herr-Baker Field box office, by phone, or online.  Envision Greater FDL
