COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Fond du Lac will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 15, starting at 3 PM on Rees and Main with nearly 50 floats expected as the route travels to Veterans Park. Parking on Main begins at noon and streets will close by 1:30 PM—scattered showers and gusty winds with temperatures in the low 50s are forecast.  KFIZ
  • Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Agri-Business Council will host the 2025 Ag Showcase at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Expo Building on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.—attendees will sample local cheese, sausage and drinks while enjoying interactive exhibits, a petting zoo and farm games. The event is free, family friendly and is held with the Eastern Ridge Home Builders Association Home Show.  Envision Greater FDL

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A moped driver was critically injured and airlifted after a crash with a pickup truck at the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Marcoe Street on March 13 — police say the truck ignored a stop sign while all parties are cooperating with the investigation.  FDL Reporter

CRIME NEWS

  • A 39-year-old landlord in Fond du Lac County was hospitalized with life-threatening head and brain injuries after a fight with his tenant in Auburn on March 11— the tenant is now in custody on suspicion of attempted homicide as investigators continue reviewing the case.  FDL Reporter

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Strong winds from a line of severe thunderstorms pushed a gust front through Fond du Lac before 1 AM on March 15, 2025 — knocking down trees, power lines and striking a gas line that firefighters quickly shut off. Additional damage occurred along 11th Street and in rural areas where falling barns and trees disrupted local roads.  KFIZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wisconsin election officials are reminding voters that the spring election is on April 1—misleading third-party mailers have falsely listed April 11 to support a state Supreme Court candidate. Officials urge voters to check communications carefully and request an absentee ballot by March 27.  FDL Reporter
  • At Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center, staff cuts have forced workers to retrieve supplies from the basement—measures that may lead to longer wait times for patients. Local unions and some employees worry the changes will burden an already short team—while a VA spokesman said that care remains unaffected.  FDL Reporter
