  • The Fond du Lac County Fair is seeking volunteer photographers to capture fun fair activities on one of the five days and one photographer is needed for the evening before the fair opens. Applicants must list their available day and those chosen will receive food and water tokens, free parking — and an access badge that grants near-complete access to the fair.  KFIZ

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Bank First was named one of America’s Best Banks for 2025 by Forbes, a recognition of its strong financial performance and focus on customer trust—CEO Mike Molepske said the bank builds success by forming lasting relationships. The bank’s assets grew from $660 million to $4.5 billion and a new branch in Sturgeon Bay will open late spring.  Envision Greater FDL

CRIME NEWS

  • A young Menasha man, Caiden Stachowicz, 19, pleaded not guilty by reason of mental defect on Monday at Fond du Lac County Courthouse to charges of arson, attempted burglary and criminal damage to property—he allegedly set fire to Congressman Glenn Grothman’s office after learning of a possible TikTok ban—with a status hearing scheduled for May 12.  NBC 26
  • A Fond du Lac jury convicted 48-year-old Lataye D. Smith on March 14 for attempted first-degree intentional homicide, mayhem with a dangerous weapon, and battery with a dangerous weapon after he attacked a woman with a box cutter knife on January 7; he now faces over 80 years in prison.  FDL Reporter

SPORTS NEWS

  • Marian University men’s volleyball beat North Park in five sets at the Cal-Lu-Fornia Invitational, with senior Derek Wills becoming the all-time kills leader with 1,330 kills + the Sabres posted strong numbers in digs and blocks throughout the match.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Marian University’s Sabres lost in straight sets to No. 15 UC-Santa Cruz and No. 7 Cal Lutheran - the team was unable to rally for a win in either match - and now looks ahead to future contests.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Marian University women’s lacrosse lost 7 to 5 to UW-Stout after a slow start allowed UW-Stout to build an early lead—forcing a tight contest that ended with a late goal, and the Sabres now hold a tied record against UW-Stout.  Envision Greater FDL
