- ➤ The Gratitude Club will host an Open House on Wednesday, April 16th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at 295 Ruggles Street to share its recovery programs and announce a new capital campaign for an 8-bed women’s sober living residence— a press conference at 5:00 p.m. will introduce the plan and founding donors. BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ About 90 UAW Local 291 workers at Cummins Inc. in Oshkosh are on strike after a new contract was delayed since the previous one expired at the end of January — they want fair wages, affordable health care and job security. Cummins said they are holding good-faith negotiations and will meet with union representatives in the coming weeks. WBAY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fond du Lac Community Theatre is offering a $1000 Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors and college students who have taken part in at least two local theatre productions. Application forms are available at guidance offices in area high schools, universities, and technical colleges or on the theatre website — all applications must be postmarked by April 25 and mailed to P.O. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Envision Greater Fond du Lac and the Fond du Lac School District will host an information session at Lakeside Park Pavilion on March 26 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss a school funding referendum on the April 1 ballot that would let the district exceed its revenue limit by $10 million per year over four years to support operations, maintenance and security. - ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture is accepting export expansion grant applications from not-for-profit organizations that serve Wisconsin agribusinesses until April 9 using funds to boost dairy, meat, and crop exports. Awards will range from $25,000 to $50,000 for meat and crop projects and up to $100,000 for dairy—with 20% matching funds—and project work will begin in May and finish by May 1. Envision Greater FDL
