- ➤ Last Saturday, Holy Family held its annual Soup du Jour fundraiser at Holy Family Church at 271 Fourth Street Way, where over 20 Fond du Lac restaurants donated soups sold for $6 a cup or three cups for $15 to benefit the local Food Pantry and St. Vincent de Paul. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 31-year-old Fond du Lac man was arrested on March 21 at Lori’s Bar and Grill on County Highway Y in Lamartine after an argument between two employees led to a stabbing that injured a colleague (non-life-threatening). FOX6
- ➤ Justin Fena, a 25-year-old man from Waukesha, faced a $100,000 cash bond and five charges after leading Fond du Lac County authorities on a 2.6-mile high-speed chase on March 4 — his pursuit ended when his vehicle struck a telephone pole — and officers recovered illegal drugs, ammunition and five guns from his car. - ➤ DATCP received reports of consumers getting fake PayPal invoices that included a bogus customer service number — a tactic used by scammers — and advised checking PayPal’s official website for accurate contact details. KFIZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fond du Lac School District and Envision Greater Fond du Lac will host an information meeting on the upcoming referendum at 6 p.m. + Lakeside Park Pavilion on March 26 to discuss a plan to raise $10 million per year for four years to cover operations, maintenance and security upgrades. Voters will get important facts before the April 1 vote. FDL Reporter
- ➤ UW-Madison Extension is offering its free interactive Junior Master Gardener Program for youth ages 8-12, which begins April 10 at the Garden of Eatin at UW-Extension Fond du Lac County Campus (400 University Drive) and includes sessions twice a month during the school season and weekly during summer. Parents must register by April 4 and accompany their children to every session. KFIZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today the Wisconsin DMV offers an online knowledge test that lets teens ages 15-17 take the exam from home under parent or guardian supervision—students must finish their driver training before using the new service. Those who pass with at least an 80% score must visit a DMV Customer Service Center to get their instruction permit, and the online service costs $10 per attempt—security includes initial and random photos to prevent fraud.
