ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On March 23, a large shed fire at N394 Irish Road near St Anna in Calumet County — a 40-foot by 40-foot structure — drew fire departments from Calumet, Fond du Lac, and Sheboygan who arrived after the blaze was discovered at 8:30 p.m.  KFIZ

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Heidi Shaw celebrated 40 years as an accounting representative at National Exchange Bank & Trust in February at the West Johnson Street office. Born and raised in Fond du Lac and a Goodrich High School alum, she lives here with her family.  Envision Greater FDL

CRIME NEWS

  • A Fond du Lac deputy found a vehicle in a ditch near Willow Road in Ripon early Monday, March 24th and discovered the owner dead outside — investigators are working with the county medical examiner to determine the cause.  FDL Reporter
  • Martin C. Kehl, 67, from Waupun pleaded no contest to felony election fraud for voting on November 8 while on probation for operating while intoxicated—Fond du Lac County Judge Laura Lavey sentenced him to seven days in jail and a $1,500 fine after considering his recent stroke.  FDL Reporter

ECONOMY NEWS

  • More than 50 employers will gather for a job fair at the Fond du Lac Expo Center on April 2 from 1-4 p.m. where job seekers of all skill levels can meet hiring managers and some companies will conduct on-site interviews.  Envision Greater FDL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Marian University is hosting its 18th annual academic symposium today from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on campus—The Universal Impact of Technology and Communication: How Does It Influence Our Lives and the Lives of Our Leaders?, with free panel discussions and presentations on technology's role in leadership; additional sessions will be held on March 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Envision Greater FDL

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wanda Tjepkema, a Medical/Surgical CNA at SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital, received the BEE Award for outstanding care and teamwork—she was nominated by a patient who praised her sponge bath, hair wash, and back rub service.  Envision Greater FDL

SPORTS NEWS

  • Marian University’s women’s bowling team won the CCIW Tournament Championship for the second straight time and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament after a one-pin win in a best-of-seven Baker match. The NCAA selection show will air on March 26 at 3 p.m.  Envision Greater FDL
