CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Taylor Schabusiness, 27, who was convicted in 2023 of killing and dismembering Shad Thyrion, was ruled competent on March 27th in Fond du Lac County for a battery charge after attacking a sergeant at Taycheedah Correctional Institution — she will return to court on April 4th for a preliminary hearing. - ➤ Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts is hosting Perspectives 2025 featuring work from over 70 Wisconsin Visual Artists on view from today through May 9. The opening reception on March 29 from 1—3 PM will include juror remarks and musical entertainment. KFIZ
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Sadie Howell, president and CEO of Envision Greater Fond du Lac, earned certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional from Grow America on March 27. The new credential gives her expertise in business credit analysis, real estate financing and loan packaging to support local economic development. KFIZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Nearly 500,000 voters have cast early ballots ahead of Tuesday's election for the state Supreme Court as in-person early voting increased 37% from the last cycle with Washington County up 97% and Waukesha County up 44%—showing strong voter engagement in key areas. FDL Reporter
- ➤ Congressman Glenn Grothman introduced the Ensuring Workers Get PAID Act, a bill that will permanently reinstate the PAID program so businesses can quickly fix wage mistakes for workers. The bill is backed by several business groups and is designed to help small business owners avoid expensive litigation—making wage corrections fairer and faster. KFIZ

- ➤ Marian University women’s bowling was selected for the NCAA Tournament Regionals in Rochester from April 3 to 5+ the Sabres will open with a winner-take-all match against Saint Vincent College at 9 a.m. on April 3 after winning their fifth straight CCIW Championship and finishing the regular season with 10 wins and 2 losses.
