ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday, Fond du Lac police responded to a motorcycle crash on the (600 block of South Main Street) that killed a 26-year-old man (from Eden) when he hit a car driven by a 67-year-old local; the driver was unharmed and officers are reconstructing the accident.  WBAY

CRIME NEWS

  • Officers arrested 56-year-old Kumar Singh from Orlando just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday night when they pulled him over for speeding on Interstate 41—he now faces his 5th OWI offense and had his blood drawn for testing, with potential penalties of 18 months to 10 years in prison and a possible lifetime ban on driving.  WBAY
  • A Fond du Lac County judge sentenced Michael Kimmons on March 28 to eight years in prison plus 10 years of extended supervision for a first-degree reckless homicide after he arranged a drug deal—using a COVID stimulus check to buy drugs—that resulted in a January 2021 fentanyl and cocaine overdose death.  FOX6
  • A 56-year-old Orlando man was arrested in Fond du Lac County on his fifth OWI offense on March 27 at about 11:20 p.m. after a trooper saw his speeding vehicle and signs of intoxication — officials will await blood test results.  KFIZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Fond du Lac School District announced two administrative changes on March 28 - Mike Blaskowski became the new Director of Facility Services and Safety while Kelly Sarah was named principal at Waters Elementary for the 2025-26 school year.  KFIZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Department of Public Works announced that West Division Street between Boardman Street and Hickory Street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on March 31 until the end of day on April 4 for water utility repairs and pavement restoration — motorists are advised to use alternate routes.  KFIZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac Police Departments will host three prescription drug take-back events in April; the events are set for April 22 at The Eagle’s Club, April 23 at Northgate Apartments and April 25 at The Center (515 N. Park Ave, 350 Winnebago St, and 151 1st St) with drop-offs from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Residents can dispose of unused and expired prescription, over-the-counter and pet medications as well as certain vaping items when batteries are removed.  KFIZ
