- ➤ Renee Breister celebrated 35 years at National Exchange Bank & Trust after joining in 1990 as a teller and rising to vice president of retail operations. She now oversees credit card work, deposits and safe deposit boxes at the downtown branch and is a Fond du Lac native who earned certificates from the Wisconsin Bankers Association (in frontline banking and personnel management). - ➤ Fond du Lac’s 11:11 Burgers and Beignets made it to the final eight in the Wisconsin Beef Council’s state burger contest on April 2nd. A secret panel of judges will visit the finalist restaurants soon and the winner will be announced on May 1st to kick off May Beef Month. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Fond du Lac police arrested 67 year old Mark W. Snider after an investigation showed he swerved in front of 26 year old motorcyclist Elijah 'Eli' Nathaniel Sowin on March 28, causing a fatal crash—Snider now faces charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety and second degree reckless homicide as the investigation continues. - ➤ Knuth Brewing Company will host two events — a Brew Masters Putting Contest on April 12th from Noon to 2 PM and a 10 Year Anniversary Celebration on April 19th starting at 11 AM — to mark ten years of brewing; contest prizes include a Green Jacket and gift card while the anniversary party features live music and a special limited edition bourbon barrel Belgian Strong Ale. - ➤ Marian University will host the 3rd Annual C.A.R.E. Conference on April 11th from 8:00AM to 12:00PM at its Stayer Dining Room (Care. Advocate. Rest. Educate) to offer interactive sessions on ethical challenges, managing boundaries, and self-care strategies while providing four continuing education units. Attendees will also enjoy a complimentary breakfast and have a chance to win a self-care raffle prize. Envision Greater FDL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Voters in Fond du Lac County cast 39,716 ballots at a 62% turnout on Tuesday, re-electing council members Tiffany Brault, Keith Heisler and Patrick Mullen while also selecting Luke Frame, Karen Moehn and Tom Oliver as new school board members. The election saw referendums for Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac and Oakfield fail—only the Waupun referendum passed for school maintenance. FDL Reporter

- ➤ Marian University baseball played two games with Edgewood and lost the first 4-3 while winning the second 10-1.
