ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded just after 2 p.m. to a call from West Division Street about a fire in a multi-unit home that started in the basement, quickly put the blaze out, and left the first-floor kitchen heavily damaged while the Red Cross helped four residents and officials continued investigating with no one injured. - ➤ On April 4th, a rollover crash on I-41 near County Highway Z seriously injured one person after they were ejected from the vehicle and required ThedaStar Medical Helicopter to land on the northbound lanes to transport the injured to a level one trauma center before traffic resumed 15 minutes later. - ➤ Consumers are advised to act quickly if a business closes or files for bankruptcy—contacting the owner, franchise, bankruptcy trustee, or credit card company to secure their property and refund deposits before deadlines become an issue. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Milwaukee man attempted to flee after a traffic stop on Military Road near Highway 151 just after 9 p.m. Friday—two PIT maneuvers ended the chase after he struck roundabouts on Pioneer Road and he was taken into custody on charges of felony fleeing/eluding, reckless endangerment, felony bail jumping and criminal damage to property. - ➤ The Fond du Lac Police Department reminded residents on April 5 to lock car doors and secure garages after reports of overnight vehicle entries with no significant thefts reported; they urged those in the area of Park Avenue + Merrill Avenue + 4th Street near St Agnes Hospital to review security footage and report any suspicious activity. - ➤ A Milwaukee man was taken into custody after a three and a half mile chase in Fond du Lac County that began just after 9:00 p.m. Friday on S. Military Road and I-41 when he refused to stop for a deputy, who used PIT maneuvers to halt his car with no injuries reported. WBAY
- ➤ The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office warned that scam callers have used technology to spoof their caller ID and impersonate officers—reports from April 4th and 5th indicate these callers claimed missed jury duty and demanded fines to avoid jail time—official summonses are mailed only. KFIZ
- ➤ The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office warned residents about a phone scam in which a caller—impersonating a sheriff’s officer—used spoofed caller ID to claim that missed jury duty would lead to fines and jail time and stressed that official notices are only mailed. FOX6
