ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On April 9 around 4:30 p.m., a driver lost control on I-41 between Military Road and Highway 23 in Fond du Lac and was taken to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center with serious injuries after the car hit fencing on Rolling Meadows Drive—Fond du Lac Fire Rescue had to use extrication equipment to free the vehicle and officials have not yet said what caused the crash.  KFIZ

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Founders Hall at 320 County Rd K in Fond du Lac will host the Earth Fair on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine, where families will visit Earth-focused exhibitors, join 45-minute walk and talk tours starting at quarter past each hour, and try paper making in a new activity zone—a raffle will also offer eco-friendly prizes. CSA Associates will hold an adopt-a-highway event from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. before the fair.  Envision Greater FDL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Congressman Glenn Grothman announced on April 9 that he introduced the No Tax Subsidies for Stadiums Act to end sports teams' use of tax-exempt bonds for building stadiums — he said these bonds should instead fund schools and hospitals — and noted that stadium projects have cost over $4.3 billion in federal revenue since 2000.  KFIZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Yesterday, ThedaCare Medical Center-Fond du Lac held a ribbon cutting and offered self guided tours at its new inpatient and emergency facility. The center will open on April 16 — officials said it will offer updated care — to serve local patients.  FDL Reporter

SPORTS NEWS

  • Junior Noah Pickart from Marian University was named a Second Team All-American by DIIIHockeyNews.com after finishing the season with 2 goals and 18 assists while anchoring the Sabre blue line. He posted several multi-point games, ranking ninth in career assists in 56 games +becoming the first Marian defenseman to earn all-conference honors since the 2016 to 2017 season+.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Marian University baseball extended its win streak to five with wins of 7-5 and 7-4—against St. Norbert as seniors Jacob Kleemann and James Bornick made key plays. The Sabres improved their record and head-to-head edge with timely hits in both games.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Marian University men’s lacrosse lost at home to MSOE by a final score of 15—4. Freshman Jack Moody scored early for the Raiders as MSOE dominated with more shot attempts and controlled the ground ball play to secure the win.  Envision Greater FDL
