- ➤ National Exchange Bank & Trust will host free shred days for residents to securely dispose of confidential documents in May; the first event is Saturday, May 2 at its downtown office from 8 to 11 a.m., followed by events in West Bend on May 16 and Westfield on May 30. FDL Reporter
- ➤ National Exchange Bank and Trust is hosting local appreciation campaigns as part of Power of Community Week on April 20-25. Customers have been invited to add thank-you cards and artwork in branch lobbies and the bank will deliver messages of appreciation to community organizations on April 17 or April 20. - ➤ SSM Health Mission Action Teams at Ripon Community Hospital and Waupun Memorial Hospital are collecting coins from April 13 to May 10 to help cover unpaid school lunch balances for students in need. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Holiday Automotive, a Fond du Lac dealership owned by a local family, was honored with the 2026 USA TODAY Top Workplaces award today (the accolade reflects a people first culture). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Moraine Park Technical College announced that 48 trade apprentices received a Tools of the Trade scholarship from Ascendium, with each receiving $2,000 for tools, clothing, equipment, and tuition. - ➤ Severe weather brought rotating storms with hail and possible tornadoes to the area yesterday and a flood watch was issued for counties north of town. Storms are expected to return later today, so residents should monitor KFIZ radio and Facebook for updated watches (as conditions evolve). KFIZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Nurse Colleen Murphy Miller (recognized for going the extra mile during a lab visit) received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic after a patient fell and cut her chin. Her care reflects a commitment to compassionate service. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Jeffrey Kiener, a security officer at SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital, received the BEE Award for his teamwork during a patient session — his recognition honors a commitment to patient care and safety. Envision Greater FDL

SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Marian University track and field continued its outdoor season at the UW-Oshkosh Invite where six athletes competed in seven events (sophomore Jude Al Taie set a personal best in the long jump while freshman Charlotte Touw improved her 800 meters). Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University softball rebounded after an 8-0 shutout in game one to win game two 5-2 against Concordia Chicago, splitting the twinbill. Standout plays from the Sabres (9-9, 6-2 NACC) helped keep the season series strong. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University women’s lacrosse team defeated Beloit 13-2 after scoring seven goals in the second quarter—this victory evened the all-time series at 3-3 and marked the team's highest goal differential this season. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University is hosting the inaugural NACC Women’s Flag Football Tournament on Saturday, April 25 at Smith Field, with teams from Marian, Aurora, Benedictine, and Rockford competing.
