- ➤ The Fond du Lac Police Department partnered with Dock Spiders and TDS Telecom for the You’ve Been Ticketed program to reward local kids with a free ticket for any 2026 home game when they display safe actions like wearing a bike helmet. Envision Greater FDL
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday, Apr. 16, a Corgi climbed from an upstairs window onto a Military Road home’s roof and, unable to reenter because of its short legs (it barked for help), a neighbor called Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue at 12:30 p.m. to bring it safely back inside. KFIZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The school district referendum to raise funds for security upgrades, staff, and maintenance failed by 203 votes on April 7 amid concerns over rising taxes and costs — a workshop on April 13 revealed that many voters without children were confused about the proposal and its benefits. - ➤ The Fond du Lac DAR honored 11 high school seniors with Good Citizenship awards and two students received prizes for winning the American History Essay Contest on April 16. A reception was held (March 7) at the public library. FDL Reporter
- ➤ Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac has selected Caroline Geary as its new Vice President of Teaching and Learning, effective May 28. Geary brings over 20 years of higher education experience (including roles in curricular affairs and academic leadership) and will help strengthen teaching and student success. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Residents near the Wolf River in Shiocton and Nichols face rising water that has exceeded 14½ feet, forcing road closures and evacuations as sandbagging continues; officials warn additional rain may worsen conditions (residents should avoid unnecessary travel). WBAY
- ➤ Flooding is hindering local monitoring of Lake sturgeon spawning along the Wolf River as the DNR says several viewing sites, including New London, Shiocton, and the Shawano Dam, were closed as of April 16 while Princeton Dam still offers viewing opportunities. KFIZ

- ➤ The City of Fond du Lac Municipal Service Center will launch a curbside bulky waste lottery in late April for fifty customers. Winners may pick one bulky item or up to five bags at no cost, with fees for freon items and tires; residents must register on the city website. KFIZ
