- ➤ Mercury Marine broke ground on its new Industrial Design Studio — a state-of-the-art, 18,000 sqft, two-story facility — to boost product innovation and team collaboration. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Heavy rains on April 26 left fields flooded near Fond du Lac and Shiocton, delaying spring planting. Farmers will wait for drier soil and monitor conditions closely + plan to adjust schedules once the ground dries. FDL Reporter
- ➤ A new dashboard is set to launch soon to help electric vehicle owners plan trips for summer travel with info for 78 charging stations funded with $78 million. The buildout continues across Wisconsin amid funding disputes — providing more options for EV drivers. WBAY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Northbound I-41 will be reduced to one lane on Thursday, Apr. 30 near Military Road (to repair beam guard) from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should slow down and watch for construction workers in the area. KFIZ
- ➤ City officials updated construction projects from April through October; Pioneer Road is closed from April 27 while Western Avenue and Macy Street are temporarily limited from April 27 to May 1, and Thomas Street is closed during storm sewer work (details are on the city website). - ➤ Last year, the USDA invested $330 million in rural Wisconsin projects to expand healthcare, affordable housing, and infrastructure — including a nearly $105 million hospital in St. Croix Falls and water system upgrades in Campbell. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ ThedaCare Medical Center-Fond du Lac celebrated its first anniversary today by marking nearly 15,000 patient services over the past year—emphasizing prompt emergency and comprehensive care. - ➤ Marian University softball clinched a NACC Tournament berth for the fourth time after sweeping Wisconsin Lutheran in two games with 4-2 and 6-5 wins. The Sabres recorded key plays (including strong pitching) that set the stage for tournament action. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Marian University is ending its men’s and women’s lacrosse programs effective immediately as part of a sports reorganization aimed at strengthening other teams, with current players receiving academic and financial support (including help with transferring). WBAY
