- ➤ Multiple Fond du Lac County fire departments responded to a fully engulfed 30 foot by 30 foot shed fire next to Eden Elementary School at 104 Sheridan Street on Tuesday, April 29th — officials evacuated students as wind pushed flames toward a nearby house while sheriff deputies directed traffic. - ➤ Moraine Park Technical College honored its key business partners on April 16 at the Fond du Lac Campus Conference Center by naming Seneca Foods as Employer of the Year, Apache Stainless for Excellence in Partnership, Washington County as New Partner of the Year, St. Mary’s Springs Academy for Innovation, and Kleen Test’s Melissa Bielinski as Workforce Development Champion—awarding teams that help build job skills and support local growth. - ➤ Work continued on Main Street in downtown Fond du Lac as crews installed water service for the Main Street Rehabilitation project — the southbound lane between Merrill Avenue and Division Street closed at 8:00 a.m. and reopened at 12:00 p.m. on April 29. KFIZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On April 10, two SSM Health nurses—Heather Evenson and Renee Weier—were honored by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing at the Nightingale Awards ceremony for their exceptional service in patient care. Evenson, an MSN nurse and educator in Fond du Lac, and Weier, a nursing supervisor with extensive experience, were recognized among the top three nurses in Wisconsin. KFIZ

- ➤ Marian University baseball swept Benedictine at home with wins of 14-13 and 13-9. The team rallied late with a walk-off hit in the first game and an 11-unanswered-run surge in the second, leaving the Eagles two wins away from clinching a spot in the NACC Tournament. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Former Fond du Lac Dock Spiders pitcher Ryan Bergert made his Major League debut for the Padres on April 26 at Petco Park—he pitched a scoreless inning against the Rays. He becomes the sixth Dock Spiders player to reach the majors and had appeared with Triple-A El Paso earlier this season. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University softball clinched a tournament spot after splitting with Edgewood in two games. The Sabres lost 8–2 in the first game and won 3–1 in the second game—earning their third straight season appearance and holding a 55–40 all-time record over Edgewood. Envision Greater FDL
