ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A man was hospitalized for burns today after he poured gasoline on a portable fire pit on North Park Ave in Fond du Lac—his attempt to start a fire caused the liquid to ignite a piece of cardboard and the gasoline to follow its stream to his can, which exploded and burned his hands, arms, and face. - ➤ Before 6 p.m. today, Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to an explosion and structure fire on North Park Avenue when a man injured himself trying to light his fire pit with gasoline—he was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment. WBAY

- ➤ Marian University professor Michael Garvey earned the James Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award on May 3 for his creative physics lessons — including a giant catapult experiment – while student Brandon Moore received the Erroll B. Davis, Jr. Achievement Award for his strong academics and leadership on the baseball team. Representatives from Alliant Energy and WAICU presented the awards at a campus recognition dinner. KFIZ
- ➤ On May 3rd, Dr. Valerie Daniels-Carter, president and CEO of V+J Foods Holding Companies, Inc., gave the keynote address at Marian University’s commencement ceremony at Herr-Baker Field for the graduating class. The event featured student speaker Connor Powers and required wristbands for guests while the ceremony was live-streamed. KFIZ
