Good morning, Fond du Lac.

Mercury Marine broke ground on an 18,000 sqft Industrial Design Studio in Fond du Lac in April, while Carver Flats opened a new apartment complex in Waupun to offer modern living; voters also rejected a school referendum and Wells Vehicle Electronics planned a spring shutdown affecting about 100 workers.

Following the rejection of a $30 million referendum, Fond du Lac School District will close two schools and cut 30 jobs while other districts plan similar budget cuts to balance deficits.

Leaders are preparing for a new vote in coming months (hoping for community support and state funding).
