- ➤ Envision Greater Fond du Lac will hold two informational sessions to share details on its travel program to Ireland, with an in-person session Monday, May 12 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a virtual session Friday, July 18 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. The trip is scheduled for November 4 to 12 and those attending the in-person session should enter at 9 Sheboygan Street (due to road construction). ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Fond du Lac man was burned on May 3 after trying to pour gasoline on a backyard fire at a Park Avenue home—fire crews were dispatched before 6 p.m. after a caller reported an explosion that caused his gas can to blow up and ignite his clothes. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Dylan B. Mayne was convicted last Friday of First-Degree Reckless Homicide for providing fentanyl that led to a fatal overdose on May 16, 2023 (another person overdosed but survived) and a sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 13 at 8:30 a.m. WBAY
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Marian University celebrated its faculty and staff at a recognition luncheon at its Fond du Lac campus, where awards for academic advising, teaching, and service were presented & work anniversaries from 5 to 30 years and retirements were honored. Recipients included Kelli Wege, Severa Krueger, and others who have long served the community. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University held its 2025 Commencement on May 3rd at Herr-Baker Field where Dr. Valerie Daniels-Carter, President & CEO of V&J Foods, Holding Companies, Inc., delivered the keynote address. The ceremony celebrated graduates with student speaker Connor Powers from Appleton and required wristbands for entry as the event was live streamed. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office website now shows a live jail roster with mugshots and charges—updating every 10 minutes to share clear details about inmate status. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Marian University softball swept Wisconsin Lutheran by winning 5-1 in the first game and 9-1 in the second game during the final weekend of the regular season+ the Sabres improved their all-time record against WLC to 57-17 with seven consecutive wins. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University softball dropped both final NACC games at MSOE, losing a close contest by a score of 4 to 3 and falling 10 to 0 in a game that marked their first road loss at MSOE since 2022 (their all-time record is 49 to 34 to 1). The team will travel to Aurora for the NACC Tournament from May 8 to 11. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University baseball swept Wisconsin Lutheran with wins of 6-2 and 6-5 in 10 innings, clinching a tournament seed for the NACC and boosting its all-time record against the Warriors to 67-17—preparing for a winner-take-all game against CUW. Envision Greater FDL
