CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, May 2, a Fond du Lac County man was convicted of First-Degree Reckless Homicide for the overdose death on May 17, 2023 in Waupun—Dylan Mayne was found guilty after a five-day trial and faces sentencing on June 13. KFIZ
- ➤ North Fond du Lac police asked for help finding 18-year-old Allan Leiva-Leiva, who left his parents’ home on May 4 at 9:30 p.m. with a bag of tools to do a TikTok challenge and help troubled girls—his cellphone was tracked to Chilton amid fears he was experiencing a mental break. FOX6
- ➤ Jessica Kroening, 37, was sentenced on May 2nd to one month in jail and a $1,000 fine after pleading guilty to illegal shining of deer, elk, or bear and contributing to a minor’s delinquency—she will be banned from obtaining a state license for three years while her son and two other teenagers face juvenile court charges for poaching over 100 deer in Fond du Lac and nearby counties. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ High school seniors in Fond du Lac County will graduate on different dates this month, with some schools holding ceremonies as early as May 18 and others scheduling theirs for late May to early June; private schools also plan graduations on dates like May 24 or June 1. Marian University already held its commencement on May 3 while Moraine Park Technical College will celebrate its ceremony on May 17 (students are finishing final exams now). FDL Reporter

- ➤ West Division Street between Boardman Street and Hickory Street will be closed today at 7 a.m.—the Department of Public Works is carrying out water utility repairs and pavement restoration. The road is slated to reopen on Monday, May 12th and drivers can bypass the one-block closure by taking an adjacent block north or south. KFIZ
