ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Department responded to a garage fire on May 18 at 172 N. Seymour Street on the west side when improperly discarded ashes from a fire pit ignited the detached structure, and firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze+ no injuries were reported. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Fond du Lac man was arrested on May 18 after a deputy tried to stop him on West Johnson Street and his brief pursuit of less than half a mile ended when he lost control on East Rees Street, striking a curb and coming to rest on a lawn (he now faces charges of fleeing, suspected DUI, and drug paraphernalia possession). - ➤ During a police chase that lasted nearly 18 miles and went through the Fond du Lac County Airport, deputies stopped a suspect vehicle on I-41 on May 19 when a PIT maneuver boxed it in—arresting a 27-year-old driver and two passengers—after a 911 call revealed plans to engage law enforcement and a backpack with drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun was found. - ➤ A driver was arrested after a high-speed pursuit that drove through Fond du Lac County Airport on May 19th — officials said the incident led to a swift police response. KFIZ
- ➤ On Monday, May 19, 2025, a 27-year-old Menasha man led a 17.9-mile chase that began on I-41 and took his vehicle onto Highway 151, county roads and the airport runway—after a female passenger called 911 for help, officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle—resulting in the arrest of the driver and two passengers and an injured deputy with a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia recovered from the scene. - ➤ Dedrick Homes will host its second electronic waste drive on Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lighthouse Christian Church parking lot on South National Avenue—collecting large electronics such as stereos, speakers, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, refrigerators, and air conditioners while older tube TVs or computer monitors incur a $25 disposal fee. - ➤ Amanda Bigsby, a registered nurse with SSM Health at Home, was honored on May 19th with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses after patients praised her caring service—she received a certificate, a pin, and a hand-carved sculpture as recognition in a brief ceremony. KFIZ
- ➤ SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital donated $3,900 to support Ripon’s Community Yoga program – which offers Chair Yoga and Yoga in the Park classes for all ages. - ➤ SSM Health is partnering with Moraine Park Technical College to host a Cancer Survivor Beauty + Support Day at Techniques Salon & Spa on June 12 from 7:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 235 N.
