  • On May 26, Fond du Lac will hold Memorial Day events where a parade sets off at 10 a.m. along South Macy Street and a ceremony follows at Veterans Park at 11:30 a.m.—Rienzi Cemetery will host a Veterans Roll Call at 1 p.m. for locals to honor military service.  FDL Reporter

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On May 20, several one-vehicle crashes on I-41 in Fond du Lac County were caused by steady rain and hydroplaning—one car hit a wall on the southbound side near the airport causing a backup to Johnson Street while another skidded off the northbound side, crashing through a fence onto Mercury Marine’s property as the driver reported pain and was checked by emergency teams, with up to an inch of rain recorded on the roadways.  KFIZ
  • At 4 a.m. on May 21, a house on w2715 County Road S near Markesan was heavily engulfed in flames—multiple fire departments from eastern Green Lake along with mutual aid from the Brandon Fairwater and Waupun teams in Fond du Lac County responded, and details are still limited.  KFIZ

  • SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic has hired Abby McDowell, PA-C, as its new cardiology certified physician assistant (located at 420 E. Division Street). She will care for patients with heart conditions such as coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, and high blood pressure.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Katherine Stephenson, a certified medical assistant at SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic Mt. Calvary, received the BEE Award on May 21 for exceptional teamwork and dedication—she was nominated by a family member who praised her persistence in handling insurance issues and her caring approach.  KFIZ
