COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Logan DeMaa—managing partner at Legacy Financial Group—was named YP of the Month for June and has built strong ties through coaching golf at Waupun High School and serving on local boards. He values the growing downtown and diverse restaurant options in Fond du Lac that offer both work and family opportunities.  Envision Greater FDL

CRIME NEWS

  • A 19-year-old Green Bay woman was arrested after leading a high-speed chase through downtown Fond du Lac on May 30—her vehicle struck eight other vehicles, caused two to catch fire, and injured three, and she now faces charges including OWI causing injury, reckless endangerment, and fleeing an officer.  FDL Reporter

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fond du Lac High School announced Steven Reinhardt as the new head coach of the Cardinals girls basketball program, replacing interim coach Tyler Williams. With over 20 years of coaching experience—including guiding Arrowhead to state tournaments and a Division 1 championship—he will meet student-athletes on June 4 at 3:30 p.m. and host a family meeting on June 9 at 6 p.m. in the Community Room.  Envision Greater FDL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Wisconsin DNR is asking landowners to host a fall gun deer hunt for hunters with disabilities set for Oct. 4—12; properties must have at least 60 acres and space for three hunters. Interested landowners must complete an online application by July 1.  KFIZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Local medical providers are launching a summer program called Slow Stroll With A Provider—designed to offer early morning 45-minute walks with Froedtert and SSM Health professionals. Participants will meet at 7 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at the former Fond du Lac County UW Campus—free to join and providing a chance to move, connect, and ask questions.  KFIZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Dock Spiders defeated the Lakeshore Chinooks 11-6 to reach above .500 win percentage for the first time this season—Tommy Googins had two hits with a key double and the pitching kept the Chinooks to only three earned runs. After a road game tomorrow, the team will face Wausau before returning Monday night to Herr-Baker Field at 6:35 p.m.—tickets will be sold starting at $5 with a Miller product purchase.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Dock Spiders won their first road game of the season by defeating the Chinooks 5-2—after a 45-minute hail delay interrupted play—with Patrick Graham going 3 for 4 and Jarren Sanderson adding two doubles to boost the score.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Fond du Lac Dock Spiders lost 20-2 to the Wausau Woodchucks as the visitors scored 18 unanswered runs in the bottom of the fifth inning—Mason Weckler pitched four innings while Gunner Gilmore debuted with a scoreless inning. The Dock Spiders will host the Woodchucks for a rematch tomorrow at Herr-Baker Field at 6:35 p.m. CT—local fans are encouraged to attend.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Seniors Jacob Kleemann and Kendall Pliner were named the final Sabres of the Month for the 2024-25 season—Kleemann helped lead Marian baseball to key wins in the NACC Tournament while Pliner boosted the softball team with strong batting that earned an All-NACC and CSC Academic All-District honor.  Envision Greater FDL
