COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Final preparations were completed at Lakeside Park ahead of Walleye Weekend, which starts today at 3 p.m. with food, live music on multiple stages, and activities including softball and kids tournaments, pier pups, and a wild animals show (with fishing and family competitions scheduled over the weekend).  KFIZ
  • Lakeside Park offers scenic views of Lake Winnebago, the historic lighthouse, flower gardens and islands with gazebos—features that make it one of Fond du Lac’s most cherished local spots. Recent photos highlight the park’s vibrant sunsets and seasonal beauty.  FDL Reporter
  • The Byron Historical Society and historical societies from Lomira, Theresa, and Slinger will host the 2nd Annual Yellowstone Trail Day on June 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Highway 175, offering free guided tours with stops at Byron Town Hall, Silver Leaf School at Sterr Park, Solomon Juneau House, and Slinger Historical Museum that showcase historic landmarks from the early auto travel era.  KFIZ

CRIME NEWS

  • Fond du Lac Police are investigating an overnight burglary on West Johnson Street when a broken window triggered an alarm at The Supply Store early Wednesday, and two suspects were taken into custody at 4:20 a.m.—authorities are still seeking a third individual seen in all black who fled the scene.  KFIZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously overturned a Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling that had blocked a religious exemption for Catholic Charities in Fond du Lac. Rep. O’Connor said the decision protects religious liberty & lets charities offering adult day services, adoption, and counseling operate freely & fairly.  Envision Greater FDL

HEALTH NEWS

  • SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital was honored on May 14 with an Excellence in Tissue Donation Award for reaching a 66% family approval rate and improving lives with tissue donations. The award was given by UW Organ and Tissue Donation during a ceremony in Wisconsin Dells—showing the hospital's strong teamwork in donor care.  Envision Greater FDL

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Rafters defeated the Dock Spiders 11-4—Fond du Lac committed four errors and allowed eight free passes while Matt Hansen hit the season's first homerun in the top of the ninth. The series was tied 1-1 with Wisconsin Rapids, and the Dock Spiders played against the Green Bay Rockers on June 5 with a meet-and-greet featuring former player Caleb Durbin.  Envision Greater FDL
