- ➤ North Fondy Fest returns to Village Park in North Fond on June 21 with food, live music, and a Kids’ Zone where families can enjoy a bounce house, dunk tank, and face painting — features that help raise funds for village projects. The festival begins at 9 a.m. and will also offer tournaments, raffles, and fireworks at 10 p.m. FDL Reporter

- ➤ On June 16 at 12:45 p.m. in rural northern Fond du Lac County, a homeowner stopped a barn fire on Hickory Lane using a garden hose before Eldorado, Rosendale, and Brandon/Fairwater Fire Departments arrived—officials have not determined the cause. KFIZ

- ➤ The Fond du Lac Community Theatre will present Legally Blonde from June 26 to June 29 at the Fond du Lac High School Performing Arts Center. Shows will run at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday—tickets are available online or at the box office. KFIZ

- ➤ Fox Valley Technical College expanded its transfer degree program to include UW-Milwaukee and UW-Stevens Point so that more than 400 students can earn credits before moving on to four-year degrees—education leaders say the change will help save money and create a smoother path for future studies. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Fond du Lac Police and Fire Rescue warned residents on June 17 that fireworks that leave the ground or explode are illegal and vendor permits do not cover them—officials will enforce the local ordinance ahead of the upcoming 4th of July holiday. They noted that fireworks cause nearly 19,500 fires each year and urged everyone to learn the rules before buying any. KFIZ
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Joint Finance Committee approved funding for the state court system that will add new assistant district attorneys and support staff for public defenders in Northeast Wisconsin. The funds will bring seven new assistant D.A.s in Brown County, four in Fond du Lac, two in Outagamie, Manitowoc, Shawano, and Menominee Counties, and one in Waupaca County—this decision comes as lawmakers work to meet the state budget deadline in less than two weeks.
