COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Lakeland Care held its third annual Day of Giving on May 14 where 79 staff volunteers helped 28 provider organizations with yardwork, spring cleanup, and resident engagement. The event continues today — offering more volunteer opportunities to support local community partners.  KFIZ

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Envision Greater Fond du Lac hosted a ribbon cutting on June 18th at the Sam Meyer State Farm Agency, which opened its new location at 127 N. Main Street in a renovated historic 1860’s doctor’s office—Sam Meyer said the project focused on reusing, recycling, and restoring original elements.  KFIZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Aurora BayCare Medical Center will host the YWCA TechGYRLS event on July 29 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM to boost girls’ interest in STEAM careers through hands-on demos by Dr. Elizabeth Dickson Michelson and BayCare Clinic providers—girls aged 8 to 18 can join for free and those aged 8 to 15 must be with an adult.  Envision Greater FDL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Air National Guard will be featured at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025 from July 21-27 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh—final details on aircraft displays and flight demonstrations from units in seven states will be announced later.  KFIZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Elisa Goes, a nurse at 5 West, received the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses during a brief ceremony at St. Agnes Hospital, honoring her compassionate care. She was recognized with a certificate, pin, and a hand-carved sculpture (A Healer’s Touch) after being nominated by a patient’s family member.  Envision Greater FDL

SPORTS NEWS

  • Junior Noah Pickart from Marian earned the CSC Academic All-District award for his strong play and grades—he was named a Second Team All-American by DIIIHockeyNews.com and All-NCHA while posting two goals and 18 assists this season.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Senior Jocelynn Eggert earned a spot for the second straight season on the CSC Academic All-District team as a key player for Marian University’s women’s bowling team. She helped her team win the CCIW Championship and posted high scores in conference and open play — marking her excellence — which highlights her status as one of the top student-athletes in the program.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Fond du Lac Dock Spiders clinched their fourth straight win as they defeated the Kenosha Kingfish 6—5 at Historic Simmons Field after overcoming an early run and tying the game until a key RBI double in the ninth by James Hankerson Jr. The team will host a doubleheader on Wednesday at 11:35 a.m. and 6:35 p.m. against the Traverse City Pit Spitters while fans enjoy half-priced Drink Wisconsinbly Old Fashioneds.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Three players from Marian women's lacrosse team have been named to the CSC Academic All-District team for their strong academic and athletic performance. Senior Isabel Davis, Emma Heide, and Nicole Stachon met team requirements and set school records—earning the honor after an impressive season.  Envision Greater FDL
