  • On June 20, a lithium ion battery overheated in a Fond du Lac home and sparked a living room fire that the resident put out before fire crews arrived—fire officials warn residents to use only UL listed batteries and chargers.  KFIZ
  • Fond du Lac police & fire responded at 3 a.m. on June 20 when a four-door sedan hit a tree and caught fire on National Avenue at Deneveu Circle; authorities are investigating the incident.  KFIZ

  • Envision Greater Fond du Lac hosted a ribbon cutting at Van Ert Electric's new facility at 415 Trowbridge Drive to mark the company's expansion in the region. HEALTH NEWS

  • Winnebago County health officials warned swimmers in Lake Winnebago about blue-green algae after a local man reported welts on his legs following a family swim near Streitch Lane last weekend. Officials urged anyone in contact with the water to wash off with soap and water—especially children and pets, to prevent further irritation.  WBAY
  • As temperatures heat up this weekend, experts warn Fond du Lac residents not to leave children or pets in hot cars since the interior can quickly reach dangerous levels—officials note that items like aerosol cans, batteries, electronics, food, lighters, medications, and plastic bottles can become hazardous in extreme heat. Families are advised to check the entire vehicle before leaving and follow manufacturer guidelines to ensure safety.  FDL Reporter
