EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Marian University signed an MOU with the U.S. Army Cadet Command on June 25 to guarantee one eligible Army ROTC nursing cadet a seat in its BSN program at the Fond du Lac campus beginning Fall, and the agreement will be reviewed annually (either party may withdraw with 30 days notice). KFIZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City and MSA Professional Services will hold a public meeting on July 2 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the City-County Government Center to review plans to replace the Forest Avenue Bridge with a new two-span concrete flat slab bridge—residents can ask questions and offer input, and project work including roadway improvements is scheduled for summer—. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital now has a new mural by local artist Jenny Wathan that gives new parents a special spot to take their first family photo—she designed the artwork with a deer and Lakeside Park Lighthouse to honor Fond du Lac's heritage. The piece, supported by the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation, is placed near the welcome desk in Women’s Health for families to enjoy as they leave after birth. KFIZ
- ➤ SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital was named on Becker’s Hospital Review’s Top Recommended Hospitals list based on patient surveys from July 2023 through June 2024 — only 11% of US hospitals earned the honor —.
