- ➤ Longtime owners Tom and Cathy Deitte retired and began seeking a new owner for Edith’s Bridal— a key downtown business since 1937. The historic building was sold to developer Sam Meyer— who plans to keep retail on the ground floor and convert the upper level into residential suites. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On July 2, 2025, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric J. Toney announced that Judge Andrew Christenson sentenced Zackery Olson to 29 years in prison—15 years confinement and 14 years extended supervision—with convictions for stalking, 10 counts of violating an injunction, two counts of telephone harassment, and three counts of felony bail jumping. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Tony Evers signed the $111 billion, two-year state budget on July 3 which includes a $1.5 billion tax cut package that will lower income taxes for about 1.6 million Wisconsinites — the plan expands tax brackets for lower and middle-income earners, shields retirement income for those 67 and older, and removes the 5% sales tax on household energy bills.
