ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At around 1:40 a.m. today, Fond du Lac Fire Department and other agencies responded to a semi crash on Highway 151 northbound at the on ramp from Highway 175 just south of the city—its load of baled paper broke through the trailer and fell on the driver, who was freed and transported by helicopter after treatment at SSM St. Agnes Hospital. - ➤ An 81-year-old woman from Sun Prairie died at the scene when her car left the median and collided head-on on U.S. Highway 151 near Thill Road in Oakfield on Tuesday at 12:27 p.m.—a 59-year-old man from Waupun was hospitalized, and investigators said she may have suffered a medical emergency. - ➤ An 81-year-old Sun Prairie woman died in a head-on crash on Highway 151 near Thill Road in the Town of Oakfield Tuesday just before 12:30 p.m.—deputies say she may have suffered a medical emergency that led her to cross into oncoming traffic—and a 59-year-old man was seriously injured in the incident. - ➤ Yesterday, two Good Year blimps — Wingfoot One and Wingfoot Two — flew at 1900 feet and about 50 mph over Oakfield, Lamartine and North Fond du Lac on their way to the EAA grounds for AirVenture 2025 to honor the 100th anniversary of Goodyear's airship operations. They are set to join a night air show today and again on Saturday. KFIZ

- ➤ Marian University is offering a new one credit postbaccalaureate course to help educators meet the Act 20 reading and language arts training requirement for licensure by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The asynchronous online course lasts seven weeks, costs $600, and is available to teachers needing training for a Wisconsin license—approved by the department. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Phase two of the Main Street Rehabilitation Project is underway as crews install water mains and remove curbs—Main Street is closed between Western Ave and 5th Street and Court Street while eastbound traffic on 4th Street is blocked. The project is expected to finish the first week of September and businesses remain open on other parts of Main Street. KFIZ
- ➤ Gov. Tony Evers signed the $111 billion state budget on July 3—eliminating the 5% sales tax on household energy bills and saving taxpayers more than $178 million over two years. FDL Reporter
- ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced that I-41, its associated ramps, and the County Road Z bridge will be fully closed next week for an I-41 Resurfacing Project in Fond du Lac and Winnebago counties. Motorists must plan ahead as northbound I-41 will be closed overnight on July 29, 30 and 31 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and select ramps will close on July 28, July 30, August 3 and August 4 — detours are posted and work may shift due to weather.
