- ➤ The Brownsville Fire Company received a $2,500 gift from Compeer Home in honor of National Heroes Day—this donation will help cover needed equipment costs and fund plans for a new fire station. Fire Chief Kelly Thomas said the funds will also support efforts to recruit younger volunteers as the department works to serve its community. KFIZ
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Yesterday morning at Wittmann Regional Airport, fire trucks responded to reports of flames from Fifi’s engine (a stack fire that is normal during start-up), but by the time crews arrived the fire was out and the plane sustained no damage. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On July 24, 2025, a man in a mental health crisis sat on the outer ledge of the bridge over Highway 151 with his feet dangling while law enforcement tried to talk him down—he cut himself with a knife, took medications, and was later taken into custody and transported to hospital as South Main Street and Highway 151 were closed for the incident.
