ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue responded at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning, July 26 to a small dryer fire that forced an employee evacuation at Milk Specialties—maintenance crews extinguished the fire and ventilated the building before operations resumed. KFIZ
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Taylor L. Sanchez was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing her cellmate, Cindy Schulz-Juedes, in July 2023 at Taycheedah Correctional Institute—Fond du Lac District Attorney Eric Toney said the sentence warns inmates about the severe consequences of prison violence. TMJ-4
- ➤ Fond du Lac Police are seeking a man who reportedly fired a gun in an occupied apartment Saturday night near Marr and Division Streets—police said a party led to reports of a stabbing that left one person with cuts while rounds from the gun entered two adjacent apartments without causing injuries, and a felony warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Tyler Niederbaumer from Elm Grove while officers ask the public for help. - ➤ Three men with prior drug records were taken into custody near the south side of Fond du Lac after a deputy pulled a car over on Highway 175 at 11:54 p.m. on July 28th+ he observed a white powdery substance and an ambulance was called for two men suspected of ingesting drugs. KFIZ

- ➤ Fond du Lac Streetwise is asking locals to share phrases and places that only residents truly understand. One example, Dutch Gap (a ditch built from Martin Avenue to the Fond du Lac River in 1879 to reduce flooding), has a name that some say comes from local German immigrants while others tie it to a similar Union project. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ On July 28, the EAA AirVenture airshow in Oshkosh set a record with 691,000 visitors, beating last year's count of 686,000 and attracting over 10,000 aircraft and 15,000 campers. 6000 volunteers contributed more than 250,000 hours and the event generated an estimated $257 million in economic impact — boosting the Fox Valley region's economy. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Northbound I-41 was fully closed overnight on Monday and will be closed tonight and tomorrow from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. along the route from County Highway N to Highway 26—motorists must follow a marked detour while additional ramp work shuts County OO on/off ramps tonight (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), County N on/off ramps Wednesday night, Johnson Street off-ramps on Sunday, August 3 and on-ramps on Monday, August 4, with make-up days if weather delays work. - ➤ The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders lost 5-4 to the Mallards at Herr-Baker Field after the visiting team scored the winning run off a throwing error in the top of the ninth inning, following a tied game from a sacrifice fly. The team will face the Lakeshore Chinooks today at 6:35 p.m. at Kapco Park—adding another close contest to a challenging season stretch. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Yesterday, the Dock Spiders lost to the Mallards by a score of 5 to 4 at Herr Baker Field as Carson Hansen hit a go-ahead solo home run in the sixth inning. The team suffered its fourth straight loss and will face Madison tomorrow at 1:05 p.m.—the game will feature a Tim Elko bobblehead giveaway and an autograph session. Envision Greater FDL
