- ➤ The Eden Volunteer Firemen’s picnic will take place this weekend in the village and its 71st annual event will have carnival rides, live music (from Driftwood, Mt. Olive and Brent Bel and the Boys) and food. KFIZ
- ➤ SSM Health gave a $40,000 gift to Marian University yesterday to help single parents earn college degrees through the Working Families Grant, which covers tuition, childcare, and household costs. Tami Schattschneider and Laura Nakielski presented the check—continuing a long-standing partnership rooted in the university’s founding by the Sisters of St. Agnes. KFIZ
- ➤ Envision Greater Fond du Lac hosted a ribbon cutting at The Center-Uniting Mind, Body, and Spirit at 96 S. National Avenue to mark its new location and partnership with Marian University + Mary Ketterhagen, widow of founder Dr. Michael Ketterhagen, cut the ribbon as the center prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary in September. - ➤ Preparations have begun for the Alto Fair in Alto on August 6 and 7, a free event for local families. The fair will offer live music, truck & tractor pulls, a full midway, pig races, firefighter water fights, fireworks, and a parade starting at 1 p.m. on Thursday. KFIZ

- ➤ High Noon recalled two production lots of High Noon Beach Variety packs after a packaging error led to cans containing vodka mislabeled as sparkling blue razz energy drinks, which were distributed to retailers in Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin—no illnesses or adverse events were reported. Consumers who bought the drinks with the impacted lot codes were advised to dispose of them immediately. KFIZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A groundbreaking at Veterans Park is set for Thursday August 14 at 8:30 a.m. The $600,000 project will add a Washington, D.C. style memorial with a paved event stage, gold star centerpiece, and memorial wall with custom engraved bricks & enhanced landscaping, and it will be funded by a county gift & donations that remain $60,000 short with plans to finish by Veterans Day. - ➤ The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders split their doubleheader today by winning 9—4 after resuming a suspended contest and then losing 7—4, ending a streak of six losses. The team will face the Madison Mallards in a two-game road series tomorrow. Envision Greater FDL
