- ➤ A 32-year-old man was arrested in Fond du Lac County after he allegedly set a neighbor’s home on fire at 2:48 a.m. Aug. 1, leading to a seven-hour standoff when he barricaded himself in his basement; authorities reported the fire self-extinguished before arrival and less-lethal gas drove his surrender at 1:07 p.m. Aug. 1 (no injuries were reported). - ➤ A 45-year-old Menasha man was arrested for a traffic violation on Interstate 41 when deputies and a K9 found half a pound of cocaine in his vehicle—he posted a $15,000 cash bond and is no longer in custody. WBAY

- ➤ ThedaCare finalized its agreement on August 1 with Wisconsin Institute of Urology — becoming the majority owner of Wisconsin Institute of Surgical Excellence — to expand urology services in Neenah, New London, Oshkosh, Shawano and Waupaca. - ➤ The Dock Spiders came from behind to beat the Mallards 6-5 at Warner Park after scoring three runs in the sixth and four in the seventh inning, with TP Wentworth driving the comeback. The team will face the Mallards again tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. before hosting the Woodchucks on Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day Sunday at 1:05 p.m. (the first 500 fans will receive a player poster).
