  • SSM Health provided $8,050 to The Arc Fond du Lac to support a literacy workbook series and a three-year subscription to AccessiBe—an AI powered tool that improves website navigation for those with disabilities. The Arc serves over 250 individuals and families in Fond du Lac, Dodge and Winnebago counties.  KFIZ

CRIME NEWS

  • Scammers are sending texts that claim a recent Amazon purchase faces a quality issue and qualifies for a refund, but the message directs customers to a fake website that collects personal data (do not click any link) and suggests verifying orders through the official website (or app).  KFIZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Village of Campbellsport announced changes to its public services as staff shifts in wastewater, public works, Village Hall & police occur while plans for capital improvements continue. Temporary Village Hall hours will be Monday to Thursday 8AM to 4PM starting the week of August 25, and the office will be open by appointment only on Fridays with community input welcomed at monthly board meetings.  KFIZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Kay Heus, a Family Medicine LPN at SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic, received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses on August 9—she was nominated by a patient for her expert and caring work and was honored by clinic leaders with a certificate, a pin and a sculpture titled A Healer's Touch.  KFIZ
