  • Holy Family Catholic Community Pastor, Very Rev. Ryan J Pruess will receive the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s Vatican II Award for Leadership in the Priesthood on September 25 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. He has led the parish for 13 years — serving over 15,000 parishioners with meal programs and a warming shelter.  KFIZ
  • Fr. Ryan Pruess from Holy Family Catholic Community will receive the Vatican II Award for priestly leadership in September, marking 13 years of dedicated service. CRIME NEWS

  • Delraye Barthuly, who attempted to set his neighbor’s garage on fire on August 1, held police at bay for nearly 7 hours and is charged with arson and multiple counts—he is set to return to court on September 12.  KFIZ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Vineyard owners are battling Japanese beetles that strip leaves and damage grapevines, risking lower yields and quality. Consultant Adam Rabe said growers use pesticides and other measures to control the pest threat—while weather changes can make beetle populations vary each year.  FDL Reporter

HEALTH NEWS

  • Tracy Freiberg, a Fond du Lac resident, went in for a routine checkup that found a slight murmur and led to an echo showing severe aortic stenosis.   • Dr. Amy Mandeville of ThedaCare Physicians-Waupaca advises parents to shift children’s wake-up and bedtime routines by 15 minutes a day and to prepare clothes and a healthy breakfast the night before school starts.
