CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Aug. 28, Fond du Lac County deputies chased a vehicle reaching 130 mph after a probationary officer saw a traffic violation and suspected intoxication; the pursuit ended when a tire deflation device was used near North Fond du Lac and both a Green Bay woman driver and a Green Bay man passenger—who fled on foot—were arrested on outstanding warrants and charges including reckless endangerment and drug possession. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the City of Fond du Lac held a ribbon cutting to mark the reopening of Main Street after major work that removed old pavement and fixed curbs, gutters, crosswalks, and water mains from 6th to Merrill Streets—boosting downtown activity. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Starting September 2, Fond du Lac County will resurface an 8.3 miles stretch of WIS 49 from Brandon to Ripon with a 2.1 million dollars project that will mill the old asphalt plus widen shoulders, update curb ramps and add rumble strips while drivers should expect lane closures and minor delays. The I-41 project will continue through late October with planned lane and ramp adjustments to maintain two lanes during peak hours and complete paving and culvert repairs. KFIZ
