EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Doty Elementary is fixing up its building and reassigning staff to get ready for the planned consolidation with Langlade Elementary next school year—workers are adding new classrooms, offices, and a wheelchair-accessible playground. The school now serves 340 students but will welcome over 500 next year while teachers learn American Sign Language for the diverse needs of its students. WBAY

- ➤ The City of Fond du Lac published its proposed 2026 budget and capital improvement plan on September 2—this plan shows a balanced budget, a healthy reserve after 15 years, and funds for public safety, streets, parks and residential construction with a focus on redeveloping N. - ➤ Fond du Lac Police reported 17 suicides have been noted this year, up from 13 in 2024. They said 10 cases involved gunshots — 7 by hanging, 2 by carbon monoxide poisoning, and 1 by knife or drug overdose — and urged everyone to reach out to those in need. KFIZ
