COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Holy Family Catholic Community's Blessed Bites program marked its fifth anniversary this month after serving 17,000 meals and basic supplies to local residents since 2020. The program will hold an anniversary food drive the week of Sept 15 with drop-offs at the parish office and churches on Sept 20—21.  FDL Reporter

CRIME NEWS

  • An 18-year-old Illinois man was arrested this morning after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit that began near Church Road on I-41 — he accelerated to over 130 mph, ran a red light on Highway 151, and faced charges for felony fleeing, eluding an officer and possession of THC.  KFIZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Marian University’s Dr. Joshua Clary, who serves as Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students, was chosen to join the Council of Independent Colleges' Executive Leadership Academy — a yearlong program with seminars in Washington, D.C. and mentorship — to build skills for higher leadership roles.  KFIZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Rep. Tony Wied introduced the bipartisan Go Pack Go Act to require cable and satellite providers to offer Wisconsin stations in border counties that currently show Vikings or Lions games when the Packers play on Nov. 2 — aiming to let all fans cheer for the Green and Gold. The bill would benefit counties including Ashland and Barron by ensuring access to local broadcasts.  FDL Reporter
