- ➤ SSM Health donated $5,000 to the Broken Bread Food Pantry in downtown Fond du Lac on September 8 to support the distribution of saved food and staples to about 600 individuals—this contribution builds on the hospital’s ongoing weekly donations that help ensure access to nutritious meals for local families. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Monday morning, a dump truck tipped on Dehring Road north of County AS caused a road closure—emergency crews from Fond du Lac County Sheriff's, Wisconsin State Patrol, Oakfield Fire, and Lifestar Ambulance extricated the conscious driver as its full load spilled on the roadway. KFIZ

- ➤ A 19-year-old North Fond du Lac man was arrested on Saturday, Sept. 6 after police chased him in Fond du Lac County—his motorcycle exceeded 100 mph before he pulled over with no reported injuries or property damage. FDL Reporter
- ➤ A 35-year-old Green Bay man was taken into custody after a high-speed chase on Sunday, September 7 that began on County Highway Y near Oakfield and spanned several roads in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties—deputies used tire deflation devices and a PIT maneuver to stop his vehicle, subdued him with a Taser, and charged him with felony fleeing/eluding, misdemeanor bail jumping, and traffic violations as the fifth pursuit in a five-day period. - ➤ A bill to expand the state’s Move Over Law to include disabled vehicles and those with flashing lights has been proposed—following similar changes in 19 states and Washington, D.C.—to help protect roadside workers. Sen. Kristin Dassler-Alfheim and local officials said near-miss crashes show the need, and the bill may be heard in the Assembly this fall. WBAY

- ➤ The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation hosted its 37th annual Charity Open—presented by Michels Corporation—that raised over $525,000 to support hospice and cancer care services in the Fond du Lac area. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Marian University men’s soccer beat St. Scholastica 3 to 0—sophomore Brayden Johnson scored twice to help his team reach a season-high three goals. This win marked Marian’s first ever victory over the Saints and its second shutout this season. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian field hockey defeated Kenyon 1 to 0 in overtime when freshman Charlotte Touw scored the game’s only goal at 2:07 into extra time, and Marian dominated shots and penalty-corner chances to record its first overtime win over Kenyon. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University men's golf shot the 10th best round in program history with a 301 finish tied for third at the Judson Fall Invitational + Wyatt Pfeiffer led the team with a two under par 69 to top the individual leaderboard. Envision Greater FDL
