- ➤ Patti Habeck, who led Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin for 14 years, has been named President and CEO of New North Inc. effective Dec. 1—she replaces Barb LaMue, who retired in May. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ Marian University named Tracy Qualmann as its new Assistant Vice President for Marketing, and she will lead marketing and branding efforts—drawing on over 20 years of experience to strengthen community ties. Envision Greater FDL

- ➤ A lottery player in Fond du Lac won $350,000 when Philly's on 4th sold the winning SuperCash! ticket for the Sept. 15 drawing—the ticket's winning numbers are 16, 24, 27, 30, 37, and 39— and the prize must be claimed within 180 days. FDL Reporter
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Amtrak’s I-41 Thruway bus service that connects Green Bay and Milwaukee will end operations on Oct. 1+state officials said the state could not renew its contract due to funding gaps in the biennial budget. FDL Reporter
- ➤ The City of Fond du Lac will begin its annual leaf collection on Monday October 13 with crews starting in the northeast and moving clockwise through the city — they will complete at least three sweeps this fall, weather permitting. Residents can drop off leaves at the yard waste site or mulch them with a lawnmower while following the city’s curbside guidelines. KFIZ
- ➤ A recent survey showed that few readers supported Wisconsin's vape law restrictions that went into effect on September 1, with some saying the rules help protect kids while others worried the changes could force ex-smokers back to cigarettes.
