COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Ledge Games will return on October 4 at Ledgerock Distillery in Fond du Lac as over 100 amateur competitors will try events like caber toss, hammer toss, recurve archery, keg toss, speed chop and axe throwing to win prizes and raise funds for local tech education. The event will start at 8:00 a.m. and run until 4 p.m.—with food, drinks, raffles and family activities planned.  Envision Greater FDL
  • SSM Health donated $20,000 to support programs for homeless families and domestic violence in our community—funds will help provide emergency shelter and housing assistance through local centers.  Envision Greater FDL
  • Fleet Farm is hosting a free pumpkin decorating event on September 27 from 9 a.m. — noon at the store where pumpkins, paint and stickers are provided while supplies last.  KFIZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany—who represents a large rural district—launched his campaign for governor Tuesday after Gov. Tony Evers decided not to seek a third term. He said he plans to raise up to $40 million to fund his race against candidates with less name recognition.  WBAY

HEALTH NEWS

  • This week is Child Passenger Safety Week and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reminds Fond du Lac parents that children ride safely when properly buckled in the back seat using the right car or booster seat—proper use of car seats can reduce injury in a crash. The agency also offers free help at two local sites for car seat installation.  KFIZ
