- ➤ A ranking of Wisconsin counties for raising a family was released by Stacker using 2025 data from Niche—counties are graded on schools, safe neighborhoods, and outdoor activities. Ozaukee County earned the top spot while Bayfield County came in at #25. WBAY
- ➤ The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation donated $30,000 to the Holy Family Warming Shelter to help people facing homelessness in Fond du Lac; Mason Gravelle and Deb Winterhack presented the check, reinforcing SSM Health’s commitment to community care—helping the shelter serve up to 30 individuals with safe refuge and hot meals during winter months. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Under Wisconsin law people under 21 can enter bars and other alcohol-serving venues when accompanied by a parent, guardian, or spouse of legal drinking age—each establishment decides if minors may drink. The law sets fines up to $500 for establishments that violate these rules. FDL Reporter
- ➤ The city of Fond du Lac posted a weekly update on road projects in the area, including a bridge replacement on Promen Drive running from June 16—November 7 and essential repairs that will close parts of Cottage and E. Merrill Avenues. From September 29—October 3, crews will pour deck, grade roads and add safety features on roads like WIS 49 and I-41, which may cause lane changes and ramp closures. KFIZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Multiple clinics will offer flu and COVID vaccines in early October across Fond du Lac, Fox Lake, Ripon, Waupun, Campbellsport, Mt. Calvary, North Fond du Lac and Brownsville—some taking walk-ins while others require appointments. Vaccines will be available for people six months and older, with certain sites serving only those 9 and older. FDL Reporter
