- ➤ Fond du Lac Festivals, Inc will host Fondy FallToberfest on October 11 on Oven Island at Lakeside Park, offering a free family event with rides, games, food, and live music. The festival will also feature the first ever Wisconsin Great Pumpkin Weigh-off where growers will compete for prizes—such as $2,500 for the giant pumpkin champion—and youth awards. - ➤ The Wisconsin WIC program updated its food packages on Monday with $3 added for fresh fruits and vegetables instead of juice and expanded options for protein, dairy, and whole grains for mothers along with earlier access to infant foods. WBAY
- ➤ Jessica Giese and Maria Novy from ThedaCare—operating room team leads—traveled to Ghana earlier this year on a medical mission trip funded by the Jodie Kacer Mission Trip Award and performed over 100 surgical procedures in four and a half days to help patients with limited access to health services. - ➤ Hillshire is recalling its State Fair Corn Dogs on a Stick and Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick after consumers reported five injuries from wood pieces in the batter—customers are advised to throw away or return the items for a refund. WBAY
