- ➤ Envision Greater Fond du Lac hosted a ribbon cutting that celebrated the Fond du Lac Area Foundation’s 50th anniversary and honored Carl Tonjes with the dedication of a stretch of 14th Street—running from Ellis Street to South Park Avenue—as Carl Tonjes Street. The event marked a full-circle moment that recognized his decades of volunteer work from his home at 169 14th Street. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Yesterday, SSM Health donated $5,000 to Fond du Lac County United Way to support its Ride United initiative that helps people get rides to essential appointments. Launched in 2018, the program connects residents with transportation for medical, dental, mental health appointments and grocery store visits. KFIZ
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday near Lincoln Road in Fond du Lac County a semi and an SUV crashed and backed up traffic for over two miles into Winnebago County, and on Wednesday north of Kaukauna in Outagamie County a four-vehicle crash involving a semi blocked both lanes on I-41 for over an hour with no injuries reported in either incident. - ➤ Amanda Fryman was promoted to vice president of Loan Operations at National Exchange Bank & Trust and will now manage both commercial and retail loans from the bank’s downtown office. She joined in 2010 and has advanced through several roles (including Officer and Assistant Vice President positions) while earning a Leadership Development degree from Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC). - ➤ Laconia High School was named among the top 40% in U.S. News and World Report’s Best High Schools ranking — principal Diane Raue said the award reflects hard work by staff, students and families. KFIZ

- ➤ Marian University women’s tennis defeated Lakeland 5—2 on Senior Day—using strong doubles wins by Monserrat Luquin and Josephine Bruch and key singles sweeps to lift their all-time record to 21—20 over the Muskies for their first win since 2022. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian University softball announced that its annual High School Elite Camp will be held on November 1 at Lenz Field House on its campus. The camp runs from noon to 4:30 p.m. and costs $100 per student; only mailed registrations with payment will be accepted, while walk-ins are allowed if space remains. Envision Greater FDL
