  • EAA AirVenture announced its fly-in dates through 2029 at Wittman Regional Airport with events set for July 20-26 in 2026, July 26-August 1 in 2027, July 24-30 in 2028, and July 23-29 in 2029. Organizers said the schedule helps aviation fans plan trips and coordinate other events.  KFIZ
  • Envision Greater Fond du Lac announced that Alyssa Gruenwald has been hired as Director of Marketing — Communications. She will lead key marketing efforts and share community stories to boost business development across the county.  Envision Greater FDL
  • A Fond du Lac County farmer is taking his giant pumpkin to a global weigh-off at today's Stillwater Harvest Fest in Minnesota—Jim Ford, who holds the state record at 2,551 pounds, said his secret is keeping the pumpkin in perfect temperature conditions. He expects to face stiff competition even though he may not beat the 2,819-pound world record set by farmers in England.  NBC 26
  • Envision Greater Fond du Lac held a ribbon cutting on October 7 to honor the Fond du Lac Area Foundation's 50th anniversary and dedicate Carl Tonjes Street—a one-block stretch of 14th Street named for the foundation’s founder whose volunteer work shaped our community. The event celebrated the legacy of Carl Tonjes, who helped build the foundation from his home on 14th Street.  KFIZ

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources invites the public to join staff and partners for the 10th anniversary celebration of Horicon Marsh Explorium at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center on Highway 28 between Mayville and Horicon—events include a bird banding demonstration from 8 to 11 a.m., an open house with kid activities and simulated airboat rides from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., evening bird watching, and a food truck starting at 11 a.m.  KFIZ

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • New data from Realtor.com shows homes in Fond du Lac County sold in July for a median price of $245,950—3.5% lower than June’s $255,000 yet 3.3% higher than in July last year. Single-family homes fell from $260,000 to $240,000 while condominiums and townhomes jumped to a median of $348,500.  FDL Reporter
