- ➤ Agnesian HealthCare Foundation donated $20,000 to Cristo Rey Ranch to support its mission of caring for animals and offering therapy that builds life skills. The ranch runs community programs such as llama visits, tours, petting zoos and equine therapy — efforts that bring comfort to assisted living, hospice and schools, said Sister Stephen Bloesl. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fox Valley Technical College students saw a driverless John Deere tractor—demonstrated by Riesterer and Schnell—that uses artificial intelligence and cameras to run without an operator. The tractor is in the test phase now to help ease labor shortages in farming. WBAY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A water main break closed 9th Street between Park Avenue and Lloyd Street in Fond du Lac, and city crews expect to reopen the road by the end of today—once repairs are complete. The closure was announced on October 15th to protect drivers until the fix is finished. KFIZ
- ➤ On October 14, 2025, the State Assembly honored several local first responders when Representative O’Connor selected Deputy Blaine Evans and his K9 Iro — recognized for their bravery during a 911 call — for the 60th Assembly District’s First Responder of the Year award. Other public safety officers from Winnebago and Washington counties were also recognized for their courageous actions. KFIZ
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Junior Yinan Lu earned her third NACC Golfer of the Week honor this fall after finishing as the top medalist with rounds of 76, 75 and a record even-par 71 at the NACC Championship. She finished the season with nine rounds of 76 or better and is on pace to reset her single-season stroke average at 76.7 after 10 rounds—proving her strong performance. Envision Greater FDL
- ➤ Marian women's bowling opened the season with a split-squad weekend at the UWW Warhawk Classic and the GLBC event—one squad scored high in Baker play to finish seventh while the other finished GLBC play in fifth and fell just short of 6,000 pins. - ➤ Marian University women’s soccer lost to Edgewood 2-1 after staying tied for 63 minutes. Edgewood’s Greta Blau scored in the 63rd minute and Stephanie Kalscheur added a goal at 67:51 before Brianna Guelig’s late strike cut the gap—today was Marian’s first loss to Edgewood since 2016, and the all-time series now stands at 10-32-4.
